Woot! I broke Quetzal's WIP curse! For years, I haven't been able to finish a single formal drawing or painting of this guy, but today, I broke the curse! *does a dance*
Nickname: K or Quezadilla by Levi Race: Elemental Age: Approx. 2000 years old Height: 5'8" in human form Elements: Nature and Electricity Distinctive Jewelry: Jade bead hung on a string around his neck Fav. Vacation Spot: Some tropical island Weakness: Hot summer nights under the rain
Originally the Elemental in charge of plants and animals, Quetzal was later given responsibility over rain and thunder, and, consequently, electricity by the former electricity Elemental, Ionos, upon the elder's death.
Quetzal hails from the rainforests of Central and South America.
When not in human form, Quetzal can take the shape of the bird whose name he carries - a quetzal is a small green bird with a long tail.
Ooh, the colors in this one are absolute eye-candy, all the greens..! I especially like the plants in the front but Quetzal himself is a very dashing guy here, it looks so pretty how the darkest parts of his hair nearly blend to the background. Must fave~
And wow, he's merely an inch taller than I am. Which is it, am I just tall or is he just short? XD -shot-

Hey, let's forget that the future will be smeared in blood again...
Hahaha he's kinda short I'm not sure why I made my guy characters a bit short (well, except Alexander, he's 6'4" and then Ceb's in the middle of a growth spurt [he's one of my two teenagers] and is probably getting around 5'10"-6'0" at 17).
You're like half an inch taller than me! I'm about 5'6.5"
Thank you so much! I'm happy you liked the pic and the leaves The leaves were a lot of fun to paint, since it was different from what I normally do, and I love plants, especially tropical ones.
His hair's weird to me... it's supposed to fade to yellows and oranges near the tips of that tuft of hair he has up front, and it works with colored pencils, but whenever I use acrylics, the scan makes the yellow and orange disappear! I think it must be because of the dark background. But who cares, painting on dark backgrounds is fun

Nice. I like how the background leaves blend into the blackness. It gives depth to your picture. He has kind of interesting expression too. I wonder what he's thinking...
(you made him shorter than me. )

"Instead of mousetraps, what about baby traps? Not to harm the babies, but just to hold them down until they can be removed?"
Eheh I don't really know why I made him and Levi short. Alex is tall; he's 6'4" I guess partly because I read romance books and all the guys there are over 6 feet tall, and I guess I got kind of fed up with it.
I have no idea what he's thinking either! That's the thing with Quetzal, he's very stoic. Maybe he's just bored while waiting for his shirt to come out of the dryer!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it The leaves were a lot of fun to make. Actually, the whole thing was, I don't paint as often as I used to back when I was in high school.
